Sooo busy...

It's been a long time since my last post and if you haven't noticed on my other blog I haven't been doing a very good job. In my defense I must say that school has started, therefore my busy life is back once again! Plus Cayden has been a sick little boy so at nights, which is usually when I do my posting, I have been tending to him. We are still trying to clear up his ear infection, he goes back on October 1st to check them again. I feel like we go to the doctor all the time now! He had to have the shot Rocephin to try and get his ears cleared up. That is a very painful shot (so much so they put lidocaine in it) and he had to have 3 of them, one every other day. Hopefully when we go back they will be completely cleared up!

Also, school has begun and its starting to get busy! I've already had a quiz and a test and did great on both of them! Although I have another quiz and test next week. :( Hopefully I'll do well on them too.

On another note I think I have finally decided on the theme for Cayden's 1st birthday which is a month from today!! It's going to be puppy dogs! I found the cutest things at Party City today for that theme. :) I also booked a photographer for his one year old pictures today too! I feel like I'm getting things accomplished a little early so I won't be so stressed when it gets really close. Also, I bought him the cutest Nike shox today. I got size 5 cause thats the smallest they had left and they were on sale so I bought them and thought for sure they were going to be way too big. (He's in a size 3 now) When I tried them on him though it took forever to get them on because his foot is so wide. haha He could walk in them well although I still think they are too long. They fit him well as far as width (maybe even a little small in that category) but they are a little long. I'm thinking about seeing if they have the size 4 at the Smyrna store so I can try them.

Anyways, Cayden loves daycare, even more so now since they are moving him to the one year old class. I can't believe my baby is already going to the big boy class goodness where does time go?? They are officially moving him on Monday but he started going in there last week and this week he's pretty much stayed in there all day and today they moved all of his stuff to that room!

Alright I know this has been long and hopefully it won't be this long in between posts again!

Oh and as for the other blog I think I'm going to stop that for a while until things calm down or maybe till Cayden's 1st birthday then I might start again and do his 2nd year. Things are just way too hectic right now for me to have to worry about posting a picture everyday.

Its been too long between posts...

I know I shouldn't go this many days without posting because I've got a lot to share. This one might be a rather long one so I hope you don't mind! I think the last time I posted it was about daycare and how we had to enroll Cayden in a new one. Well the day after we dealt with all that the old daycare called us and said we've had a spot open up sooner. I was like really? We politely said no thank you we've already enrolled him in a new one. :)

My parents came in last weekend and I had to clean all day the Friday before. Well Allen was kind enough to take Cayden out to the store to pick up a few things we needed. When he came back him and Cayden had bought me flowers!

My parents got there Friday night and Saturday we went shopping. We bought a shelf system thing to go in Cayden's room. We did have a twin bed in there but mom and dad took it back with them to make more room for all his toys! We also put the safety locks on our cabinets and had time to hang the shelf above our bed in our bedroom while mom and dad were here.

We didn't do much on Monday and Tuesday except spend lots of time playing since those were my last two official days as a stay at home mommy, or so I thought. Cayden started daycare Wednesday morning and I'm quite happy that I didn't cry, although it was very hard! :( He did really well and didn't even realize I was gone (I got to watch him in the office on their tv's before I left). When I picked him up that afternoon they said he didn't eat any lunch at all. He also felt warm so when I got home I checked his temperature and he had a fever. I called his doctor and made an appointment. She said he had red spots or lesions on the roof of his mouth and back of his throat. She told us it was a virus and should run its course in about 3 days but that it will get worse before it gets better. Well she was right, he got a lot worse before he got better. He got red spots all over his body, ran a high fever, had a terrible runny nose, sore throat, and no appetite at all. We felt SO bad for him it was horrible seeing him like that! We think he had hand, foot, and mouth. He's better now and starting to get his appetite back slowly. He still has red spots all over and a little runny nose. So I thought I wasn't going to be staying home with him anymore but he was contagious so he couldn't go back to daycare on Thursday or Friday, I didn't mind though because he was so pitiful all I wanted to do was hold him. :(

The only good think that came out of that sickness was that he wouldn't take his milk out of a bottle at all so for the last two days he's been drinking out of a sippy cup only. We had been trying to wean him off the bottle anyways so this just helped us out. Hopefully it will continue!

Yesterday we went shopping and I bought my scrubs and also got a new purse. :) We didn't do much today except lay around, did laundry, and cleaned up a little bit. Cayden goes to his second day of daycare tomorrow and hopefully he will do as well as he did the first day, but even better because he's not sick anymore!

My poor sick boy. Look at that pitiful face :(
Cayden with his new couch we bought yesterday! He loves to sit on it and it pulls out to a little bed which he loves to lay on as well. He's also learned he can push it up against things and use it as a step stool!

Daycare

Well, our day started out great until about 11:20 this morning when Cayden's daycare called and told us that he no longer had a spot to start on Monday. I had just talked to them yesterday and they said that we did but when she called today she said that there was a family ahead of him on the waiting list that had already paid for the first full week so they had to give his spot to them. I was highly upset but tried to stay friendly over the phone but didn't really get much information. So when Allen got home we went up there to talk to them in person to get more details on what happened. Needless to say we were not very happy when we left there and were told there was nothing they could do except that they would call us when or if they had a spot open up by the 30th which is my first day of classes.

When we left there we went back to one of the daycares that I really liked to see if possibly they would have an opening anytime soon. At first she said that classroom was full and my heart sank then she said well let me just double check. She went and looked and there was a baby leaving that class next Friday! So she said that he could start full time on the 23rd of this month! I was so excited, then she said that if we wanted to ease him into it that we could start him next Wednesday because they have a part-time baby that only comes on Mon. and Tues., so I said yes that would be perfect. I went back to the car and Allen knew I had good news because of my face. (He had stayed in the car with Cayden because he was asleep) We went to eat at Chili's and talked about it. Before we got our food I filled out the application and we went by the doctor after that to get Cayden's shot records. After that we went back to the daycare and turned everything in and Allen got to look at the room he would be in. (I had already seen it because I had looked at this daycare back in June) Cayden also got to play while we were talking and he loved it! She couldn't believe that only me or family has ever kept him because he was so friendly and when one of the teachers picked him up he just played with her.

We are VERY excited at how things worked out and all I can say is that things happen for a reason and maybe God knew that he needed to be at this daycare instead of the other one. :)

Great weekend!

This weekend was absolutely great! We loved spending time with Aaron and Janie (and Clara of course :) ). It was lots of fun and we hope to do it again soon! Yesterday was pretty normal me and Cayden got up and went to Wal-Mart in the morning and hung out around the house that afternoon. I did some cleaning when Allen got off work, then Aaron came over to watch the Bachelor Pad. We baked brownies and had a great time! I think its going to be a pretty drama filled season but funny as well. Today was pretty relaxed too, Cayden went to bed at 9:30 last night and woke up at 7:15. Which was great since he has been used to sleeping in, although he did eat breakfast then fell asleep at 8 and didn't wake up till 9:30. I think he just likes to sleep in the mornings because he would only take a 20 minute nap for me this afternoon. He did however sleep while we were at the Verizon store getting my new phone after Allen got off work.

I was trying to take a picture of him to send to mom and everytime I would try to take it he would always move or come try to get my phone. Therefore I settled for one of him with his rubber penguin in his mouth. :)

We also found out that Cayden is for sure starting daycare on Monday! He's been on the waiting list since the first week in July and I called this morning and they said that he has a spot!! That is such a big relief for me and Allen we were so worried that he wasn't going to get in then we were going to have to find him another daycare fast! I'm probably going to cry when we drop him off Monday morning though. :( I started crying last night just talking about it. It's really starting to hit me that someone else is going to be taking care of my little boy during the day and that makes me extremely sad! It's going to be good for him though and he loves being around other kids so I know he'll love it. Next week is just going to be super hard for me though. :(

Busy Week

This week has been fairly busy and I haven't had the chance to post on here since Sunday. Monday I had to take Cayden back to the doctor to make sure his ears had cleared up from where he had fluid in them. Well she said his ears looked great so that is wonderful news! Wednesday we had to meet my parents in Dickson and ate at Cracker Barrel with them. Cayden loved their green beans and biscuits. We didn't do much Thursday except get ready for our weekend. Oh I also baked and decorated a cake that was pretty good if I do say so myself! Today we had to come to West Tennessee because Allen's aunt passed away so we came and visited with his family and went to visitation. Tomorrow we are going to stay with our good friends Aaron and Janie. Cayden is going to get to spend the night with one of his girlfriends Clara, Uh Oh! Don't worry we'll make sure they stay in their own beds! Haha :)

Its been a pretty uneventful week but next week should be interesting. I'm going to have to get Cayden on the schedule he's going to be on for daycare. Right now he's been our little night owl that likes to sleep in! For example he stayed up late last night but slept in till 10 this morning. So me and Cayden both are going to have to get used to getting up early again so this could be a very exhausting next week.

New project

So I have decided to take on a new project this year, it's called the 365 Day Photo Project. I'm going to take a picture everyday for a whole year and it starts today! I created a seperate blog just for this project, I got the idea from my Mommyhood ladies. If you want to check it out its http://beth365photoproject.blogspot.com/.

On different subject, Cayden has gotten so good at walking this week he's trying to walk everywhere now. He had to go with me Friday to get my TB skin test done and the nurses just loved playing with him! I have to go back tomorrow to get it checked and I'm sure they will love seeing him again. The nurse that did it remembered me coming in this time last year to get the skin test done when I was pregnant with Cayden so she enjoyed seeing him and how big he is.

Cayden fell asleep watching tv Saturday morning, he loves watching them in the mornings when he first gets up. He always pulls the pillows off the couch and lays down on them when he watches tv. While he was watching cartoons I was able to get the crock pot going with yummy roast, potatoes, and carrots. We let it cook all day long and it turned out great! Cayden loved the potatoes and carrots. He seems to like any kind of potatoes whether they are baked, stewed, cooked in the crock pot, or if they are french fries he loves them! Don't worry we don't give him french fries often but he got to eat some when we went to Chili's one day.

To end the weekend, I went to see Charlie St. Cloud this afternoon with Aaron and had a good time, the movie was pretty good but wasn't what I had expected it to be. All together we had a very relaxing and great weekend!

Trying to be productive

Well, I thought I would try to be productive today (instead of just playing with Cayden all day) and it hasn't gone as well as I had planned! I needed to make some phone calls mainly and get some appointments set up but even doing that has proven to be quite a task. I called the first place and the lady didn't answer so I left a message for her to call me back. Then I got online to make an appointment with MTSU Health Services to get my TB Skin test done again for clinicals, it has to be done each year for nursing students. Well apparently there is a 20$ charge per visit for students not enrolled during the summer which I think is crazy! For the skin test you have to go at least 4 times. Therefore I decided to call the Health Department to see if they would do it well that was harder than I thought. I called and the lady put me on hold to go see if they would do it then she comes back a few minutes later and had forgotten about me cause she asked what I needed again so I told her. Then she hung up on me!! I've called back twice and been put on hold for 10 minutes at a time! I don't have time for that! In other words I haven't gotten as much done as I wanted too but I have gotten some laundry done and things picked up so that is a plus!!

Proud Parents!

Like I said before we went to McKenzie for a short weekend so that I could go with Amy and them to shop for a wedding dress! That was one exhausting day mainly because of all the driving. Amy did however narrow it down to two beautiful dresses and whichever one she chooses will be amazing!! Sadly that will probably be our last trip to McKenzie for a while. :(

Cayden didn't sleep so well at my parents house, I don't think he likes the pack n play they have. It's a smaller one and he doesn't have much room to move. We got worried because he had been sleeping so well we were afraid that was going to mess him up. Although he redeemed himself because Sunday night he slept from 10:30 till 9:30!! I think his ears are clearing up and that was the reason for him not sleeping well because he has been sleeping great this past week minus Friday and Saturday night.

Also, a big milestone has been reached Cayden started taking steps on Saturday!!! Each day he takes more and more and just since Saturday he's gone from 1 or 2 steps to walking longer distances each day! He still prefers crawling to get where he wants faster but when it comes to going from one piece of furniture to the other or to a toy he has started walking to it! I still can't believe 9 months has gone by and now I can't believe our baby is walking!! We are so proud of him! On another note, one of Cayden's molars is trying to come in. Its not poking through the gums yet but you can see the white spot and feel that it is swollen. That will make 9 teeth and usually the molars don't start coming in until a year old but I think his will be here sooner than that at least one of them will anyways! At our 9 month check up the doctor said that he may start having to go to the dentist at about 16 months old instead of waiting until he is 2 or after and I can believe it because he has a mouth full! I think it's great how even getting teeth can make a parent feel so proud of their child!

Busy Week

Sorry its been a week since I last posted but it's been very busy this week. As I said Cayden went to my parents house this past weekend because me and Allen had some plans and of course they wanted to see him. We met my parents on Sunday afternoon to get Cayden back and funny story Allen had to chase Cayden's balloon my grandmother got him across the parking lot because it got loose from the car, that was a funny sight! Since we've had Cayden back he didn't sleep well at all Sunday or Monday night which isn't unusual because since he got an ear infection about a month ago he hasn't been sleeping very well. We were very happy that he had his 9 month check up on Tuesday so that we could make sure he wasn't sick again. On a good note he weighed 24 lbs 8 oz and is still in the 90-95 percentile for weight but no worries he's not overweight. :) She said he's growing great! On a bad note though he has fluid in his ears again (which he could have not ever gotten better from a month ago we don't know for sure) so that accounts for him not sleeping good. She put him on another antibiotic and told us to give him Children's Benadryl 30 minutes before bedtime. We saw a major improvement the very first night he slept from 9:15-5:30 which is great considering we were getting up several times during the night before because he would just wake up screaming. He slept from 9:15-4:30 last night which we are very happy about! Hopefully this medicine will clear up his ears and he will continue to get better!

Also this week I cooked chicken cassarole one night this week and I saved some noodles and chicken out for Cayden to try and he ate them up! He's starting to like more table foods than baby foods now which means I'm going to have to start cooking a whole lot more! I can't believe that in less than 3 months he will be a year old, the doctor said that she wants him on table foods by a year old anyways so him not eating as much baby food is alright.

As you can see I didn't get any pictures up I haven't had time, but hopefully I will get it done soon! We're going to McKenzie this weekend cause I'm going with my mom, Amy, her mom, sister, and grandmother to Arkansas to wedding dress shop for Amy!! So exciting and I can't wait till their wedding although it isn't until May! Anyways hopefully I'll get some pictures up soon and hopefully it won't take me another week to post again.

9 Months Old

Cayden is 9 months old today! He is growing up way TOO fast I cannot believe 9 months has already gone by. I got him all packed up last night and this morning got everything in the car and went to meet my dad. My grandmother had brought him a big balloon to play with on the way to McKenzie and he loved it! Hopefully he will be good for them on the way home. I got back to the apartment and I already miss him so much, it's way too quiet around here without him. :( I know he will have fun though and he'll be back in a couple of days, plus he is in good hands. :) I think he is trying to cut his 1 year molars but hopefully he will sleep well for them. They usually have trouble getting him down the first night then he's usually fine. (He's kind of attached to his mommy at nighttime) Although, he doesn't liked to be rocked at night anymore he just wants to be laid in his crib and he goes right to sleep. It's kinda sad cause I miss rocking him but he sometimes still lets me and he still likes to be rocked during the day for naps. Ohh how fast they grow up!

I'm hoping to get some pictures up here soon I just haven't had much time lately but hopefully I can get to it this weekend!

So many things, So little time

I have SO many things that I need to get done but it seems like there is never enough time! I have to finish unpacking from this past weekend, wash all of Cayden's clothes, and repack him by tomorrow night. I also need to get some things mailed out, wash our laundry, (Cayden's comes first though lol) clean the apartment, and make some phone calls. The cleaning can wait until Friday so I don't have a little boy coming behind me messing everything back up. Everything else needs to get done though!! Funny story, Cayden took my cell phone off the couch today without me knowing it and apparently decided to hide it from me because I looked for it for a while then I realized that maybe Cayden took it and started looking in places that he would probably carry it off too and I found it in like 2 minutes. Haha Gotta love babies :) Anyways, I did accomplish the one thing I needed to do today which was go to Wal-mart, but I couldn't find everything on my list there and I forgot one thing so I must go to Kroger tomorrow. Along with that I have to get Cayden packed back up because my dad is going to be in Nashville on Thursday so he is going to pick up Cayden and my grandmother from Knoxville that afternoon for the weekend. I'm going to miss him SO much but me and Allen have some plans for this weekend and need our us time which is always good for everyone. Plus mom and dad love having Cayden to spoil!

Also, I got my clinical group assignment for this fall and I am so glad I get to stay in Murfreesboro and don't have to drive to Hermitage or Hendersonville, especially since we have to be there at 6:45 in the morning!

Hopefully more interesting posts to come! :)

Intro

So I've never written a blog before but I love reading other peoples blogs so I thought I'd give it a try. I think it's a good way to keep up with what is going on with others so I'm going to try and keep it updated.

Now for a little intro, Cayden will be 9 months old in 5 days and I can't believe it. He is growing up way TOO fast! He is learning new things every day and I love just watching him, it amazes me how smart he is. We have to put him in day care in August and its going to be SO hard because he has been home with me since he was born. He's had babysitters before but never for all day long, although its probably going to be harder on me than it will be on him. I know it will be good for him though and he'll probably love it.

We'll see how well I do at this blog thing but hopefully everyone will enjoy it! :)
